How to Recover Deleted Pictures on any Android Phone
February 21, 2020Recover Deleted Pictures on any Android Phone
On Android you can restore deleted images and the reason you can is that the photos aren’t really deleted.
The deleted images remain in the memory space, being stored in internal storage or external memory (SD Card), but the space they occupy is marked as unavailable and can be used by new data in any moment. When new data is written into where the images are removed, the pictures will be lost and unrecoverable.
Many users prefer an Android image recovery software to restore deleted files without a device on Windows, but that’s a bad idea as you’re taking a risk-the deleted data could be overwritten by the app’s update.
Recover Deleted Photos from Android Internal Storage
FonePaw Android Data Recovery is a desktop software that can easily recover deleted pictures and old Android images from phones and tablets. It supports images in .jpg, .png, .gif, .bmp, .webp, .tiff formats and more. And is compatible with most Android phones, and is able to recover deleted images.
Free download the program on Windows PC
STEP 1. Connect Android to PC
Connect your Android phone to PC and run FonePaw Android Data Recovery on the PC. Make sure that you have enabled USB debugging on the Android phone so that the phone can be detected by the program.
STEP 2. Choose to Find Deleted Photos
When your Android device is connected, you can see the interface as the below screenshot shows, which allows you to select categories of the deleted files. To retrieve deleted pictures from Android gallery, select “Gallery” or “Picture Library” and click the button “Next” to continue.
STEP 3. Allow the FonePaw Program to Scan Deleted Photos
Enable the requests from the FonePaw app to access your contact information on your computer.
Click Scan Authorized Files to start scanning for deleted photos after giving the app permissions.
STEP 4. Preview and Restore Deleted Photos from Android
The scanning process usually takes some time, particularly a lot of photos are on your phone. The scanning process is done when the progress bar reaches 100 percent.
The FonePaw program can detect deleted images in two modes: Standard Scan and Deep Scan.
You can select “Gallery” or “Photo Library” on the left window after Standard Scan to check if the lost images you need are available.
So you can show the full size with the licensed edition by double-clicking on the pictures. Mark the images you want to repair, and click “Recover” to recover deleted pictures back to your PC.
Note:
Since the recovered photos are saved on your computer, you may need to transfer the photos from PC back to your Android. To do that, you can connect the Android phone via a USB cable and use a data transfer tool.
